Spot removal guide
Act quickly, blot instead of rubbing, use plain water first, and call a professional for stubborn, large or recurring spots. Here is why stains behave differently and what is safe to try.

Why stains differ
Water-based spills like soda or juice, oily soils like grease or makeup, protein stains like pet accidents, and dyes like wine or ink each bond to fibers differently. The fiber itself — nylon, polyester, wool or a blend — also changes what is safe to use.
What you can safely do
- Blot up as much as possible with a clean white towel.
- Work from the outside of the spot toward the center.
- Lightly dampen with plain cool water and blot again.
- Test any household product in a hidden area first.
- Let the area dry fully and keep traffic off it.
What not to do
- Don't scrub or rub — it spreads the spot and frays fibers.
- Don't use bleach, colored soaps or strong household chemicals.
- Don't over-wet the carpet; moisture can wick into the pad.
- Don't layer several products on the same spot.
When professional treatment helps
Call us for pet accidents, large spills, spots that reappear after drying, or anything on delicate upholstery. Professional pre-treatment and extraction reach deeper than surface blotting. Some stains can be lightened but not removed — we will tell you honestly during the walk-through.
