Which rugs suit steam cleaning
We clean manufactured, synthetic area rugs. We don't clean oriental, delicate or imported rugs, and we'll tell you honestly if yours needs a specialist.
| Rug type | Steam cleaning? |
|---|---|
| Machine-made nylon, polyester, olefin | Usually yes |
| Synthetic shag | Often, with care |
| Hand-knotted oriental/Persian | Specialist rug cleaner |
| Silk, viscose, rayon ("art silk") | Specialist — prone to damage |
| Antique or imported wool | Specialist |
| Jute, sisal, seagrass | Specialist; water can stain |
